Consolidated Communications (NASDAQ:CNSL) is partnering with SimpliSafe to provide security services to residential and small business customers across its service area.

"We're delighted to be working with SimpliSafe to deliver a peace-of-mind factor to our customers," said Rob Koester, vice president of product management, consumer services at Consolidated Communications. "Small businesses now have the ability to lock up at night after a hard days' work without worry, and consumers now can rest more easily knowing their homes are protected."

SimpliSafe offers monitored home security with no long-term contracts. Its system is designed to provide homes with layers of protection using an array of sensors, including panic buttons, glass-break sensors and outdoor sirens. SimpliSafe's 24/7 professional monitoring is designed to protect against intrusion, fires, floods, freezing temperatures and medical emergencies. It uses a built-in 802.11n 2.4 GHz WiFi and a cellular connection in parallel for redundant access, plus battery backup.

It also features smart home controls. Customers can arm and disarm their alarm system remotely from any mobile device, and SimpliSafe can be configured to deliver mobile text alerts and notifications.
