Cox Business and Hospitality Network has released the initial data traffic figures for the 2019 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Cox provides the telecom infrastructure at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the venue for the annual show.

From Jan. 7-9, the first three days of the show, CES data traffic over Cox' network included 759,465 total Internet sessions, 29.33 TB of total Internet traffic, 3.55 TB of total WiFi traffic, and 223,128 total cumulative detected devices.

Attendance numbers for this year's show are not yet available, but CES 2018 featured more than 188,000 individual attendees and more than 4,500 exhibiting companies.

Cox telecom infrastructure for CES included 2,100 WiFi access points, redundant 10 Gbps backbone Internet connections and a distributed antenna system (DAS) equivalent to 14 cell towers inside the convention center. Cox also supported the 14-screen, seven-location digital signage network within the LVCC facility, including two new 40-foot LED screens in the concourse.
