Harmonic Aims for CCAP Upgrade Path

Harmonic (NASDAQ:HLIT) announced the launch of NSG Pro, a CCAP-compliant product designed to offer universal edge QAM capabilities and an upgrade path to future integrated CMTS capabilities. The NSG Pro is designed to converge linear video, on-demand video, and data onto a single system, while providing an upgrade path toward full CCAP and an all-IP infrastructure.The NSG Pro's upgrade path consists of line cards that can be added to the same chassis. The system is powered by the company's CableOS software to integrate with existing infrastructure. Harmonic will demonstrate the NSG Pro, which is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2013, at Cable-Tec Expo.
