Cable ONE Business (NYSE:CABO) has deployed its symmetrical 2 Gbps Piranha Fiber - Ferociously Fast Internet - in Biloxi, MS. The company is initially focusing on the area near the Cedar Lake Medical Facility in Biloxi and will offer businesses both Internet and telephone services. Cable ONE plans continual expansion into additional business areas in and around the Biloxi metro area for the foreseeable future.

"Cable ONE has invested more than $75 million in Mississippi over the past five years on network upgrades and enhancements in order to bring the latest technology and fastest speeds to our customers," said Chris Boone, vice president of business services for Cable ONE. "As part of our ongoing investment and with the launch of this new service, we are expanding our service offerings to local businesses while contributing to the economic development of the state."

The new internet and phone services are delivered over a passive optical network (PON) with shared bandwidth, which is intended to allow Cable ONE Business to spread its infrastructure costs over a broader customer base to make the service more affordable.

Several Piranha Fiber internet plans are available, beginning with 50 Mbps and scaling to 2 Gbps. Pricing starts at $99.95 a month when bundled with business telephone service for three years.

Earlier this month, Cable ONE launched the service in Boise, ID.
