Cox Communications' Business/Hospitality Network has been designated as a Choice Hotels approved Qualified Vendor to service Choice Hotels International (NYSE:CHH) franchised hotels. As a provider of telecommunications services to the hospitality and gaming-resort industry, CB/HN will evaluate the current Internet bandwidth status of Choice Hotels properties and make improvements where needed.

The hotel company - with more than 6,500 franchised locations worldwide - mandated new connectivity, speed and WiFi network support standards for many of its franchises to meet by the end of 2018.

"People today are traveling with more devices than ever. At all Choice Hotels properties, it is a top priority to provide guests with secure, high-quality WiFi connectivity and bandwidth," said Jay Sigona, senior director of Enterprise Program Development and Implementation. "We are pleased to be working with Cox Business/Hospitality Network as a qualified vendor. Choice's qualified vendor program identifies best-in-class hospitality offerings, taking out the guesswork for our hotel franchisees and enabling them to focus on what they do best - delivering exceptional guest experiences."

Cox Business/Hospitality Network is one of five qualified vendors chosen to help Choice Hotels properties meet requirements by the deadline.

"Forward-thinking hotel companies, like Choice Hotels, understand the ideal customer experience now includes quality Internet connectivity," said Steve Rowley, executive vice president, Cox Business. "Brands that get it right are focused on fine-tuning this capability to ensure guests have the same or better connectivity than they do at home."
