Shaw Biz Scores BC Biomed Deal

Canadian cable operator Shaw Communications has inked an agreement to provide BC Biomedical Laboratories with communications services for its 45 Patient Services Centres located throughout the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.The multi-year deal will see Shaw Business deploy WiFi in all Patient Services Centres, allowing patients to surf the Internet, check their email and use their mobile devices in BC Biomedical's waiting rooms, as well as a corporate wide area network (WAN) for transferring medical files and images. The corporate network uses Ethernet over DOCSIS.Services are currently being implemented, and the first phase is expected to be completed by the end of April.
