Anevia and Quadrille have strengthened their partnership to offer over-the-top (OTT) video over satellite. The joint solution is intended to enable content providers and operators to offer cost-effective live TV services where it was previously unavailable due to limited bandwidth, such as high-speed trains, in-flight entertainment, offshore sites and university campuses.

The OTT-over-satellite solution includes Anevia's GENOVA transcoder and NEA-LIVE packager to prepare live channels. The OTT stream is delivered via satellite using Quadrille's QuadriLive. On the receiving side, Anevia's Flamingo headend software embeds Quadrille's software to re-transform the signal and enable multiscreen viewing on any smart device.

The latest collaboration between Anevia and Quadrille started with the launch of a replay solution for Canal+ to address the hospitality and healthcare markets.

Xavier Battas, CEO, Quadrille, said: "Quadrille is a leader in delivering content over the air, so our DNA has always been broadcast. Working alongside Anevia is an excellent opportunity to expand our OTT offerings to help content providers keep up with consumer expectations and their viewing habits."

Ivonne Prugnaud, vice president of worldwide enterprise sales at Anevia, said: "Consumers increasingly want to watch TV anywhere, at any time, all with a high-quality viewing experience. From live streaming to video on demand, the growing partnership between Quadrille and Anevia will help service providers deliver a unique experience across any network."

The OTT over satellite solution will be highlighted at Cabsat in Dubai, March 12-14.
