GCI Taps TiVo for In-Home Multiscreen

Alaskan cable op General Communication Inc. (NASDAQ:GNCMA) has selected TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO) to exclusively provide GCI's whole-home multiscreen video solution and user experience. GCI intends to begin initial deployment later this year and offer TiVo across their footprint in early 2013.The deployment will initially include TiVo's Premiere Q 4-tuner gateway DVR, Mini IP set-tops and Stream. GCI also intends to be one of the first operators to utilize the TiVo Software and Service in conjunction with the Pace XG1 multi-tuner gateway with integrated DOCSIS and transcoding capabilities.
