Ireland's Xunison intros Wi-Fi 6 mesh, 5G gateways with Qualcomm

Xunison (Ireland), a software and hardware platform provider to the telco/ISP market, has now introduced its Q50 series of home internet, mesh and 5G gateways, featuring Qualcomm Technologies’ Immersive Home 214 and 216 platforms for advanced Wi-Fi performance, along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem-RF system.

Built on Qualcomm's silicon, the new multi-function routers from Xunison are billed as fully configurable and easy to use, supporting Wi-Fi 6 Mesh capability via Qualcomm Immersive Home architecture.

The Xunison Smart Home Hub works with Zigbee, Zwave, BLE and Wi-Fi devices. The device service offers Wi-Fi Smart home support, which is 5G enabled and underpins Xunison's "Matter Ready," a an expanded feature coming later this year.

Xunison in a press release said the new device is "set to provide an all-in-one broadband delivery and digital in-home services solution for its customers through smart devices, consumer apps, cloud-based management platforms and provider-branded online stores."

The company notes the new product range includes lightweight DPI [Deep Packet Inspection] to detect and block malicious home network traffic, as well as efficient energy management which monitors energy consumption on all connected devices. Customizable parental controls also come as standard.
