The Mobile Problem Locator (MPL) is a smartphone application designed to provide cable technicians with a simple tool to help maintain the network. It can be used with ComSonics' QAM Compass via Bluetooth connection to provide contractor work verification and can be integrated with GENACIS leakage analysis and work order management.

Additionally, techs can use MPL to document and share plant faults, including pedestals, broken lashing wires, and non-cable issues related to telephone/power. Essentially, every technician equipped with a smartphone becomes a resource for gathering valuable data needed to proactively improve plant integrity, and, thus, ComSonics calls MPL an empowering agent for the real-time collection of information captured in the field.
