Effigis Geo Solutions CPAT FLEX Ingress Monitoring Solution

Oct. 2, 2012
The Diamonds judges were interested to learn that the Effigis Geo Solutions CPAT FLEX Ingress Monitoring Solution provides a technician with the ability to locate ingress sources within a few meters' precision, regardless of the nature of the interference.
The CPAT ingress receiver monitors the return nodes to detect over-the-air signals that are specially encoded so as not to interfere with the operator's return signals. With a mobile web application, field technicians can view the ingress level in real time, find the source and fix it. The device can be operated with no user intervention, during the technicians' driveout of the plant during their daily routine. In a real-world example of CPAT FLEX's effectiveness, in January 2012, it was installed at EastLink's New Glasgow (Canada) system, a 550 km network with 105 nodes. In five months, service calls dropped 13% to 299 per month. This is compared to an average of 324 per month in 2011. If the trend continues for the rest of this year, the system will achieve a savings of $65,000, Effigis says."It took just over two weeks for us to be convinced that CPAT FLEX was exactly what we were looking for," said Jim Murphy, EastLink special projects manager.www.effigis.comSee them at Cable-Tec EXPO, Booth 425Return to the BTR Diamond Technology Reviews Elite.
