EXFO Universal Virtual Sync

Sept. 26, 2017

EXFO says its Universal Virtual Sync provides one-way delay measurements to achieve near-GPS accuracy levels that vary only ±100 microseconds from a GPS source without having to rely on additional tools at the edge, such as intelligent SFPs or complex timing schemes.

The Universal Virtual Sync is designed to enable operators to leverage their existing standards-compliant monitoring endpoints to produce highly accurate unidirectional and bidirectional performance metrics, including unidirectional delay, without the requirement for end-to-end synchronization. This approach significantly reduces complexity, time and costs while delivering highly precise quality metrics, EXFO says. Universal Virtual Sync is available for both EXFO's commercially deployed, physical active test verifier as well as the virtual test verifier, a fully virtualized active test solution available for NFV and virtualized environments.
