Linksys has announced three DOCSIS 3.0 retail cable modems, two available now and another coming later this summer. The two modems available now are the CM3008 and the CM3024. The CM30016 is expected to be available later this summer.

All three modems feature Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) Puma 5 or 6 chipsets, Gigabit Ethernet ports, and are designed to be compatible with major cable Internet service providers, including Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR), Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA), Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable.

The CM3008, with an MSRP of $59.99, uses 8X4 channel bonding and is designed for downstream speeds up to 343 Mbps and upstream speeds up to 120 Mbps. It's intended for consumers with cable broadband plans up to 100 Mbps.

The CM3024, with an MSRP of $129.99, uses 24X8 channel bonding and is designed for downstream speeds up to 960 Mbps and upstream speeds up to 240 Mbps. It's intended for consumers with cable broadband plans faster than 250 Mbps.

The CM3016, for which pricing has not yet been set, uses 16X4 channel bonding and is designed for downstream speeds up to 686 Mbps and upstream speeds up to 120 Mbps. It's intended for consumers with cable broadband plans up to 250 Mbps.

The Linksys CM3008 and CM3024 are available from Linksys.com and as well as brick-and-mortar and online retailers.
