Among the first five cable modems certified for DOCSIS 3.1 by CableLabs last week was one from Ubee Interactive. Now we have some tech specs on said modem.

Ubee's model DVMA20, which the company says uses Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM) silicon, is designed for multi-gigabit speeds over existing HFC networks. In the downstream, it provides two DOCSIS 3.1 channels for capacity up to 4.6 Gbps and 32 single-carrier DOCSIS 3.0 QAM channels for speeds of up to 1,372 Mbps. In the upstream, it provides two DOCSIS 3.1 channels for capacity up to 480 Mbps and eight single-carrier DOCSIS 3.0 QAM channels for speeds up to 246 Mbps.

Ubee says it is currently engaged in DOCSIS 3.1 testing with several major cable operators.
