SCTE Names Legg Member of the Year, Adds Hranac to Hall of Fame

Bob Legg Jr., VP of tech ops for the Atlantic Region at Suddenlink Communications, was presented with the SCTE (www.scte.org) Member of the Year Award at Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans. Legg set and achieved the goal of having his entire team become certified in at least one of SCTE's Certification Programs. His efforts contributed to the thousands of SCTE certifications that Suddenlink achieved over the past year. Legg is beginning his second term on the SCTE Board of Directors as Region 10 director.

Ron Hranac of Cisco Systems was inducted into the SCTE Hall of Fame. In 1991, he became the first Fellow member of SCTE. In 1987, he became the first person in the cable industry to be certified in SCTE's BCT/E program. Also, Hranac is one of the founders of the SCTE Rocky Mountain Chapter.

SCTE Board of Directors Chairman Bob Foote presented his SCTE Chairman's Award to the CTO Advisory Group, which comprises Nomi Bergman, Jim Blackley, Terry Cordova, Marwan Fawaz, Mike LaJoie, Dermot O'Carroll, Dan Pike and Tony Werner.

In other awards, Wendell Woody received a special Distinguished Member of the Society Award, the SCTE Excellence in Standards Award was presented to Roger Mathews of PPC, and Leslie Ellis was presented with the Women in Technology Award.
