Tektronix (www.tektronix.com) announced enhancements to its Sentry digital content monitor intended to make it the only scalable solution that detects video and audio errors in digital programs while generating metrics that correlate to mean opinion scores (MOS).

The key to delivering the new video artifact measurement and detection capability was the development of a set of algorithms calibrated against the Tektronix PQA600 Picture Quality Analyzer. Through a software upgrade, service providers can take advantage of artifact detection as an addition to Sentry's QoE scoring capability with reason codes and its new MOS scoring capabilities. The metrics can be used to compare and track the qualitative performance of audio and video programs throughout the video network, enabling them to identify where degradations in quality are occurring.
