SENSIO Technologies (www.sensio.tv) announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued U.S. patent 7,844,001 covering the way in which a merged stream of images is encoded and decoded. With the patent, SENSIO has established exclusive rights over decoding of content encoded in its proprietary SENSIO 3D format. The company has patents pending with the European Patent Office, as well as Japan and China.

In other SENSIO news, the company is buying Algolith's video-processing IP portfolio, consisting mainly of four patents and nine patents pending, as well as Algolith's image-processing technologies, source code and know-how. The addition of Algolith's 100%-compatible and -complementary technologies is intended to enable SENSIO to boost development of current and future projects, and extend its range of solutions for 3D delivery.
