Fujitsu's (http://us.fujitsu.com) FLASHWAVE 9500 Packet Optical Networking Platform (Packet ONP) has met the aggressive energy efficiency standards defined in the Telecommunications Energy Efficiency Ratio (TEER) metric, part of a group of power saving standards developed by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions, better known as ATIS (www.atis.org).
Released in May 2009, the TEER standard provides a comprehensive methodology for measuring and reporting energy consumption as well as quantifying a network component's ratio of work performed to energy consumed. The FLASHWAVE 9500 Packet ONP is the second Fujitsu Network Communications' solution to meet TEER standards.
