DoJ Signs Off on Verizon-SpectrumCo

The U.S. Department of Justice filed a Consent Decree and Competitive Impact Statement regarding the Verizon Wireless-SpectrumCo (a joint venture between Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Bright House Networks) commercial agreements with the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

David L. Cohen, executive vice president at Comcast, said in part, "We are pleased that the consent decree that we have negotiated with the Department of Justice preserves the most important goals of the agreements."

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said in part, "I believe the Commission should now approve this transaction, and I will be circulating a draft order to my colleagues that would do so."
