Sunrise Intellisam 300x153Sunrise Telecom's IntelliSAM Carrier Ethernet Service Activation Test Suite is based on the recently consented ITU Y.1564 standard, formerly known as Y.156sam. Y.1564's newly enhanced test methodology is specifically written for service activation and is closely tailored to the bandwidth profile parameters being sold.

As service level agreements (SLAs) become ever more stringent, operators must be able to verify the bursty nature of Ethernet services. The IntelliSAM is designed to enable ops to verify and guarantee the exact service configuration and performance delivered to their customers. Its committed burst size (CBS) and excess burst size (EBS) tests are reportedly the first in the industry to be able to generate bursty traffic in a Carrier Ethernet test suite. It is designed to eliminate the laborious and excessive test permutations mandated by previous test methodologies, and also to test multiple streams and continuously test each frame.
