The SCTE has approved standards on BER testing and male F-connector specs.

SCTE 121 2011, Test Method for Downstream Bit Error Rate, deals with measuring BER of downstream (forward path) broadband telecommunications QAM signals. The procedure will address mainly pre-FEC BER results for 64- and 256-QAM.

SCTE 123 2011, Specification for "F" Connector, Male, Feed-Through, specifies requirements for 75 ohm RF male "F" feed-through connectors. The spec applies to SCTE drop cable specifications ANSI/SCTE 74 2003, ANSI/SCTE 71 2003, ANSI/SCTE 100 2004, IPS SP 005 and IPS SP 006.

SCTE 124 2011, Specification for "F" Connector, Male, Pin Type, specifies requirements for 75 ohm RF male "F" pin type connectors. The spec applies to SCTE drop cable specifications ANSI/SCTE 74 2003, ANSI/SCTE 71 2003, ANSI/SCTE 100 2004, IPS SP 005 and IPS SP 006.
