At NAB, Appear TV will show a high density bulk descrambler and an MPEG-2/4 SD and HD decoder. The high-density bulk descrambler module is designed to descramble up to 250 services using a single 1RU chassis. Supporting both DVB-CA and AES descrambling, it's intended to increase the number of channels operators can offer while protecting the content on their networks. The module also integrates with any software-based conditional access (CA) solution and provides operators looking to resell channels on a single IP backbone with the perfect way of handling the required shift from DVB to AES scrambling. The MPEG-4 HD decoder module enables up to 30 HD channels to be decoded in either SD/HD or MPEG-4 AVC/SD/HD format, including HD to SD down-conversion. The module also enables SD/HD-SDI output with embedded audio. The new multi-format decoder module fits into the company's DC1x00/SC2x00/MC3x00 series of products.
