According to research house Strategy Analytics, Comcast led the U.S. market in new broadband subscribers in 2010, adding 1 million net customers over the course of the year. Comcast grew its subscriber rolls at nearly twice the rate of No. 2 broadband service provider AT&T.

Overall, U.S. broadband service providers added 4 million new subscribers in 2010, and 1.2 million in the fourth quarter alone. The number of new subscribers added in 2010 is identical to the 2009 figure, indicating a gradual plateauing of the U.S. residential broadband market.
