Midcontinent Communications launched MidcoNet Xstream Wideband Internet service to its more than 250,000 residential customers. The service offers up to 100 Mbps downloads and 15 Mbps uploads. ESPN3.com was also added to Midcontinent's service as part of the upgrade.

For the past nine months, Midcontinent has converted from analog to digital, clearing the way for data expansion. Current Midcontinent customers will automatically be upgraded to the increased speeds. Three tiers of service will be available:



  • MidcoNet Xstream Wideband 3.0: up to 100 Mbps downloads and 15 Mbps uploads


  • MidcoNet Xstream Wideband 2.0: up to 50 Mbps downloads and 10 Mbps uploads


  • MidcoNet Xstream Wideband 1.0: up to 30 Mbps downloads and 5 Mbps uploads
