According to Pyramid Research, the latest reforms taken by the Calderon administration in Mexico to deregulate optical fiber are expected to spur growth of the Mexican optical fiber market 10 times by 2015 and to be worth $3.6 billion. Investment in developing and launching the new network is estimated to be $110 million. By 2012, half of Mexico's households are expected to have access to services provided by cable companies because of the latest initiative to deregulate optical fiber.
