The Cable Center's board of directors has elected Jerald L. Kent, president and CEO of Cequel III, as its new chairman. Kent assumed his role after Michael Willner, the immediate past chairman, officially passed the gavel at The Cable Center's Cable Hall of Fame Celebration. Willner will continue to serve on The Cable Center's Executive Committee.
Kent began his career in cable in 1983 with Cencom Cable Associates. In 1993, he co-founded Charter Communications. Today, he is chairman and CEO of Suddenlink and also serves on the boards of CableLabs, the NCTA, C-SPAN, and Cable in the Classroom.
The Cable Center's board also elected Nomi Bergman of Bright House Networks and Dan Moloney of Motorola Mobility to the board.
