The SCTE has approved SCTE 48-3 2011, "Test Procedure for Measuring Shielding Effectiveness of Braided Coaxial Drop Cable Using the GTEM Cell." The standard details the procedure for measuring the shielding effectiveness of coaxial cable using the Gigahertz Transverse ElectroMagnetic (GTEM) cell. More particularly, it applies to measuring the SE of 75-ohm braided coaxial drop cables presently used within the broadband communications industry. SE measurements can be performed with or without the coaxial connectors removed from the measurement. The document is available for download at http://www.scte.org/standards/Standards_Available.aspx.
