In a recent field trial in Vienna, UPC Austria achieved a sustained maximum downstream Internet speed of 1.3 Gbps over a live network consisting of fiber-optic and conventional coaxial cable. The tests were conducted with the DOCSIS 3.0 ARRIS C4 CMTS with downstream channel bonding and Touchstone data modems. The data speeds demonstrated in the field trial downloaded an HD movie in less than two minutes and more than 100 songs in less than five seconds.
