The company's hydrogen fuel cell power solution is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel consumption at hubs sites. Unlike diesel generators, the hydrogen fuel cells' only by-products are heat and water. Four fuel cell backup solutions available (5, 8, 10 and 16 kW). The SCTE installed a hydrogen fuel cell at its headquarters in Exton, PA, in June. It was called into service when the building lost power during Hurricane Irene this summer, keeping its network online and functioning until power was restored.

Other CommScope green technologies in display at Expo include shelter cooling, remote monitoring, a wideband edge QAM, end-to end FTTx, and an intelligent addressable tap.
