At CES, Entropic Communications (www.entropic.com) introduced a complete MoCA 2.0 solution. The new chipset features higher throughput, enhanced reliability, new power management features, better security, and backward interoperability to prior MoCA standards.

Offered as a complete end-to-end MoCA 2.0 solution with MAC, PHY, analog, RF transceiver and RF front-end functionality, it's designed to provide 400 Mbps of application throughput in its basic configuration, and is scalable to support 500 Mbps Turbo mode and 800 Mbps/1 Gbps in channel bonded modes, more than doubling the speeds of existing MoCA solutions. It also has an expanded range of operating frequencies (500-1,650 MHz), low power modes, packet error rates better than 1e-6, latency of 3.5 ms, and is designed to work with cable, satellite and IPTV.

It's expected to sample in the first half of 2011, with full volume production expected for Q1 2012.
