A new report by DIGDIA indicates major growth in 3D. From 5,000 3D movie screens worldwide in mid-2009 to more than 22,300 now, an increase of nearly 450% in 18 months. Content is increasing as well. The first digital 3D movie was Disney's "Chicken Little" in 2005, and the number of digital 3D movie titles has nearly doubled every year since. TV programmers are also adding 3D content, with offerings expected from ESPN, Discovery and others. This year at CES, the market saw the introduction of consumer electronics products in at least 17 categories.
