The American National Standards Institute has approved SCTE standards ANSI/SCTE 130-6 2010 and ANSI/SCTE 173-1 2010.

SCTE 130 Part 6 describes the Digital Program Insertion Advertising Systems Interfaces' SIS (Subscriber Information Service) messaging and data type specification using XML, XML Namespaces, and XML Schema.

SCTE 173 Part 1's objective is to provide an initial set of requirements for preferential telecommunications within IPCablecom networks. Aspects of preferential telecommunications include provisions for Authentication and Priority (Special Handling). These requirements do not apply to ordinary emergency calls such as people calling police, fire department, ambulance, etc.
