In addition to numerical scoring, Diamonds judges were asked to single out products that showed a unique purposefulness or technological advance. These received the Honorable Mention designation, for displaying special technical advancements within a specific discipline.
For example, the Diamonds judges called the GENBAND Smart Office 2.0 (Booth 437) a "nice collection of technologies" that should provide virtual office support. They noted that the solution will help operators compete directly with OTT providers and will enable them to offer a "rich, unified experience" with a web-based back-end that is supported on numerous clients.

GENBAND describes Smart Office 2.0 as a unified communications (UC) solution portfolio designed to enable mobile collaboration and cloud service delivery. It was engineered from the ground up for smartphones, tablets and communications services. With this bundled solution, operators can offer businesses UC services, including voice, video, IM, presence, screen sharing and conferencing. Users will no longer have to manage multiple passwords, multiple user experiences and disconnected directories, GENBAND says.

The company highlights the fact that Smart Office 2.0 provides WebRTC-based "client-less" delivery. This means users have the services of a traditional PC/Mac application using a web browser. Like HTML-based email, this simplifies access to UC services. It gives mobile clients the ability to initiate and manage collaboration, not just participate. They can also juggle multiple conversations simultaneously.
