The Cable Center has announced the members of its Cable Hall of Fame Class of 2016. The seven newly elected industry leaders will be inducted during the 19th annual Cable Hall of Fame celebration, held in conjunction with the NCTA's INTX show in Boston next May.
Inductees of greatest interest to cable's tech and engineering community are Pat Esser, president of Cox Communications, and Robert J. Stanzione, chairman and CEO of ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS).
The other inductees include:
- Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, MSNBC's Morning Joe
- John D. Evans, chairman and CEO, Evans Telecommunications
- Tom Rogers, president and CEO, TiVo
- John O. "Dubby" Wynne, retired president and CEO, Landmark Communications
The honorees were chosen based on their dedication and contributions to the development of the cable industry. The 2016 Cable Hall of Fame selection committee was chaired by Michael Willner, president and CEO of Penthera Partners and a member of the Cable Center's board of directors. Since 1998, 114 men and women have been inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame.
