GoNetspeed, a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH)-based Internet service provider (ISP), has begun installing service to residences in Connecticut. The company now has 14 active markets operational, including Hartford, West Hartford, New Haven and Bridgeport, as well as 10 others in the Pittsburgh area.

GoNetspeed offers up to 1 Gbps symmetrical speeds to local homes and businesses with no modem rental fees, data caps or contract requirements. The company also offers a "Lifetime Price Pledge," under which customers are guaranteed to pay the same price for their Internet speeds for the entire time they remain a customer and are within a GoNetspeed service territory.

"Now more than ever, people are in need of high-speed Internet alternatives. Couple that with the ability to lock in a low price for the life they are a customer, and these value propositions have fueled our momentum as residences break from high-priced cable providers," said Larry Coleman, president of GoNetspeed. "We plan to continue expanding into additional communities throughout our footprint based on customer interest."

Pricing for residential service starts at $50 a month for 100 Mbps, $70 a month for 500 Mbps and $90 a month for 1 Gbps.
