Google Releases KC Fiber Pricing

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) has released pricing details for the fiber-based service it's been building in Kansas City. Gigabit Internet plus video service will be $120 a month; standalone Gigabit Internet will be $70 a month; and Free Internet is something of a misnomer, in that it requires a $300 construction fee.

The services are not yet live, and the search engine giant hasn't yet announced which areas will be deployed first. There's a pre-registration period, 45 days as of this writing, for prospective subscribers. Google says it will decide which areas to light up first based on demand.
