AT&T (NYSE:T) has launched its fiber-based GigaPower 1 Gbps Internet service in parts of Fresno, CA, and has expanded its availability in parts of Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Oklahoma and San Diego.

The Fresno deployment includes parts of Fresno itself, Clovis, Visalia and other areas of the Central Valley. Expanded availability in existing markets includes parts of:

  • Chicago: suburban Oak Park
  • Los Angeles: Palmdale and surrounding communities
  • Miami: Cutler Bay, El Portal and surrounding communities
  • Oklahoma: Edmond, Moore and Norman
  • San Diego: Chula Vista

AT&T first launched its gigabit service in Austin, TX, in October 2014 and has been expanding its availability since. Residential deployments thus far mainly have been limited to select areas, such as new housing developments and apartment complexes, rather than market-wide.
