Huawei has launched a 10 Gbps HFC access platform at ANGA COM 2016 in Cologne, Germany. The platform is designed to support both 10G DOCSIS 3.1 and 10G PON.

The platform consists of an OLT (optical line terminal), 10G PON interface board, DOCSIS 3.1-based distributed CCAP (D-CCAP), 10G PON ONT (optical network terminal) and unified network management system.

The new platform is designed to improve signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and transmission efficiency, as well as reduce space requirements in the headend as the D-CCAP modulates video at remote fiber nodes, instead of at the headend. It's also designed to support both broadcasting TV and future IP video.
