The FIP-435B Fiber Inspection Probe is designed to remove the last human variable from fiber inspection and analysis. It automatically focuses and centers on the connector independently of the user. False-positive results from manual inspection probes are a thing of the past, EXFO says, and the accuracy of green pass results can be relied upon.
It also takes into account new applications like fiber-to-the-antenna, which involves the installation of high-precision optical gear at the top of towers. It is difficult for climbers to use one hand to focus a probe and a video screen. A pass/fail LED on top of the probe eliminates the need to consult data displayed on the screen. Wireless capability with smart devices saves data to a smartphone kept in the technician's pocket. These innovations enable a technician to perform tests single-handedly, keeping safety in mind, and also reduce the amount of gear needed, which is more cost-effective, EXFO says.
