Broadpeak Downsizes CDN Technology

Sept. 16, 2012
Broadpeak has launched nanoCDN, a CDN technology designed to leverage home networks to reduce video infrastructure investments for operators. The first application of nanoCDN will be used for live OTT video delivery, with more applications planned to be supported in the future.nanoCDN is intended to manage video consumption peaks that are not supported by the network infrastructure and enable cable operators to deliver live OTT video services to millions of simultaneous viewers using only a few megabits per second from the operator network. It is designed to integrate with any existing video headend and be transparent to end users. It does not require a dedicated client and is designed to be compatible with any DRM system.
