A more than $50 million investment will enhance the company’s operations in South Carolina.

On March 21, fiber optic cable, connectivity, and equipment manufacturer AFL announced an investment to expand its South Carolina operations.

AFL reports that the more than $50 million investment will support job creation and AFL’s portfolio of Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliant products. It also aligns with the Biden administration’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Internet for All initiative.

AFL CEO and president Jaxon Lang said in a press release, “This expansion highlights AFL’s commitment to providing an end-to-end BABA-compliant cable and connectivity portfolio for our valued U.S. customers and represents a significant milestone toward AFL’s ongoing contribution to a stronger, more connected future for all communities across the country.”

The investment will reportedly increase production capacity and support the development of new fiber optic cable solutions.
