Lumen Technologies (NYSE: LUMN) has revealed plans to offer its Quantum Fiber service in 18 cities across the U.S. The service includes internet access at rates up to 8 Gbps symmetrical and whole-home WiFi coverage with optional mesh extenders.

The recently revealed list includes Boise, Idaho; Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, and Orlando, FL; Colorado Springs and Denver, CO; Des Moines, IA; Las Vegas, NV; Minneapolis, MN; Omaha, NE; Phoenix and Tucson, AZ; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, Spokane, and Vancouver, WA.

Most of the 18 cities were highlighted in a list of target markets Lumen announced last November. Denver, Minneapolis, and Seattle were revealed as the inaugural three markets for Quantum Fiber when Lumen unveiled its 8-Gbps capabilities last August.

Lumen believes it is on track to connect more than 500,000 homes and small businesses with Quantum Fiber this year.

"We are a nation of foot-tappers, and no one wants to have to wait on their internet performance. With Quantum Fiber, our customers and small businesses don't have to slow down. We live in a digital society and connecting people is important work. With each new city, thousands more people gain access to our reliable internet. It's an investment with rippling benefits for not only families and businesses, but also our larger work to support digital inclusion," said Maxine Moreau, Lumen's president of mass markets.
