March 7, 2023
Currently, more than 30 communities across the state have access to the ISP's services.

Fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) internet provider GoNetspeed on March 2 announced that construction of its fiber broadband network throughout the City of Waterbury, Connecticut has been completed, with gigabit internet services now widely available.

With network construction complete, more than 18,500 subscribers throughout Waterbury now have access to GoNetspeed’s services.

Through the ISP’s $9.3 million investment in the city, residents now have the option to experience high-speed, symmetrical upload and download internet speeds ranging from 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps directly from their homes or businesses.

Tom Perrone, GoNetspeed's SVP of network operations and GM of Connecticut, commented:

“With construction officially complete, GoNetspeed is now able to support the Brass City with internet they deserve, positively changing their online quality of life. 100 percent fiber internet sets communities up for continued success. With access to service like ours, residents can trust that their service will support them as more devices are incorporated into our lives, creating a greater need for better connectivity.”

GoNetspeed said it continues to ensure that more communities throughout Connecticut have access to fiber internet infrastructure. Currently, more than 30 communities across the state have access to the ISP's service, along with many communities that are on their way to having access.

Waterbury Mayor Neil O’Leary said:

“The City of Waterbury is thrilled to welcome GoNetspeed as another option for residents throughout our community. With access to fast, reliable fiber internet, our neighbors have the option of a service that will support their daily activities. GoNetspeed’s future-proof network will support Waterbury for years to come, directly benefitting our continued growth and retention.”

GoNetspeed serves residential and business customers in Maine, Alabama, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and West Virginia. The BSP formed a partnership with Oak Hill Capital in January 2021, allowing it to accelerate the expansion of its fiber network throughout the northeastern U.S.
