Horizon expands regional FTTH network deployments to Hillsboro, Ohio

Ohio-based fiber-optic broadband service provider Horizon just announced the continued regional expansion of its advanced fiber-optic network to residents and businesses in Hillsboro, Ohio.

The fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networking expansion includes nearly 42 miles of new fiber, passing 2,840 homes and businesses in the area.

Currently, Horizon is also in the FTTH construction phase in several other Ohio markets, including the communities of Greenfield, Washington Court House, Lancaster, Zanesville, Athens, Logan, Johnstown, and Jackson.

In sum, Horizon currently operates 6,000+ miles of fiber across the states of Ohio, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, and Indiana, with data center connectivity and backhaul services that span up to Chicago, Illinois.

Supporting evolving digital transformation needs

Post-deployment, the BSP stated that "Hillsboro and its residents and businesses can look forward to the advantages that come with heightened speeds, bandwidth capabilities and affordable broadband solutions. This deployment will meet a host of new and evolving digital transformation needs that homes and businesses alike are bringing to the table," added a Horizon press release.
