MetroNet, Inc. on May 25 announced that Dave Heimbach will join the fast-growing company as its president and chief operating officer, effective July 5, 2021. Heimbach is currently executive vice president and chief operating officer of Shenandoah Telecommunications Company, DBA Shentel (NASDAQ: SHEN), which operates wireless, cable and fiber optic networks in portions of Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
“MetroNet has seen remarkable growth and success due to the efforts of our leadership team,” said John Cinelli, chief executive officer of MetroNet. “Dave’s experience will help us further expand our capacity for rapid growth, and we are honored to welcome him to the MetroNet team from such a quality operator.”
At Shentel, Heimbach led the sale of the company’s wireless affiliate business to T-Mobile, and the transformation of Shentel into a high-growth regional broadband company focused on fiber and fixed wireless broadband expansion. Prior to Shentel, Heimbach was chief operating officer of Colorado-based Rise Broadband and currently serves as a board member of ACA Connects, an industry association. Prior to Rise, Heimbach led multiple business units for Cincinnati Bell, eventually serving as chief operating officer.
“No company is creating more Gigabit cities than MetroNet,” said Heimbach. “The growth MetroNet has achieved over the last several years is extraordinary. I look forward to the opportunity to join the MetroNet team to help accelerate future growth and bridge the digital divide by connecting more communities to Gigabit-speed fiber optic services.”
MetroNet cites itself one of the largest and fastest growing fiber to the premises (FTTP) providers in the U.S., helping to provide reliable, affordable high-speed internet access to small-town America. The company this year announced that it would build a fiber-optic network serving Bryan, Texas, marking its entry into its 11th state.
Unlike most internet service providers, MetroNet notes it installs fiber-optic cables directly to homes and businesses, assuring fast and reliable speeds both uploading and downloading. For more information, visit www.MetroNetinc.com.
