This local convergence point enclosure (LCPE) 288 is a sealed enclosure suitable for aerial, buried, pedestal, pole- or wall-mounted installations. It eliminates right-of-way issues and minimizes the risk of damage from road accidents. It is designed to hold one DWDM LGX style factory installed module in 4, 8 or 16 channels, and 1x64 or 1x128 optical factory installed splitters. It offers 288 LC APC ports. It supports FTTx at the node; DWDM feeds the OLT at the node which then feeds the optical splitters. It thus enables an easy transition from HFC to FTTx architectures.

Judge's Comment: "MSOs are interested in lower cost FTTx distribution network components. The splitter network is one area of opportunity. This design reduces the number of connectors and increases splicing making it smaller and more efficient."
