Qwilt's Content Delivery Sharing (CDS) eliminates the commercial CDN from the value chain, incentivizes ISPs to deploy and operate core delivery infrastructure and uses edge computing as a strategic platform for content delivery and other edge cloud functions. CDS edge computing resources are not owned by Qwilt and the delivery function is collaborative between service providers and content publishers. Qwilt provides edge node software, cloud services and APIs that serve as the control plane matching requests for content delivery with ISP network-based caches. Based on open caching specifications developed by the Streaming Video Alliance, the architecture provides carrier grade delivery and reliability, without the capacity constraints of other CDNs, says Qwilt.

Judge's Comment: "Seems like a BitTorrent for video assets. In other words, licensed content can be drawn from adjacent networks regardless of the distribution network. I would think this is very instrumental in providing TV Everywhere."
