WOW! has gone live with gigabit Internet service in four new markets, including Auburn and Huntsville, AL; Evansville, IN; and Knoxville, TN. The four deployments are based on DOCSIS 3.1 over existing HFC plant. The company first announced plans for the deployments - plus an FTTH deployment in Grosse Pointe Shores, MI - in early August.

WOW!'s previous top web speed tier in the four markets was 600 Mbps. Upgrading to gigabit requires only a new modem. 1 Gig Internet will be available as a standalone service for residential customers at $70.00 per month with a two-year term agreement, and can be bundled with existing WOW! cable and phone services.
