OneExpert CATV is a signal analysis meter platform with DOCSIS 3.0 that can perform testing and troubleshooting on 32x8 bonded channels. While a complete battery of tests, including MER and BER, is being performed on the entire lineup, Session Expert is working in the background to analyze the measurement results to help identify problems and suggest possible next steps.
The AutoChannel feature allows OneExpert to automatically identify channels and signal types, which eliminates the need to build a channel plan, Viavi says. Dual inputs allow the meter to be connected simultaneously to the home for ingress tests and to the downstream path from the network. A TDR test verifies everything is connected properly, and the fact that upstream and downstream tests can be performed simultaneously saves time, the company says.

A dual diplexer design ensures that OneExpert is ready for the expected North American transition to 85 MHz in the upstream. The meter can automatically switch to the appropriate diplexer for the portion of the network being tested.
