Zanaware Technologies Channel Lineup Pro

Oct. 2, 2012
Zanaware's Channel Lineup Pro (CLP) could be the answer to what one Diamonds judge calls "big data" in the headend. The scalable, non-intrusive chassis-based solution is designed to help operators with the onerous task of monitoring and managing channel lineups across multiple headends. As headends and hubs continue to grow in complexity, MSOs need to keep tabs on what channels are in which devices, and what the lineups and overall spectrum look like at any given moment in time. Currently, MSOs enter data manually into spreadsheets or simple database report engines, which do not scale in an advanced headend/hub architecture. MPEG/network probes can discern that MPEG issues exist, but not the path of devices.CLP, on the other hand, tracks, stores and accesses data from thousands of lineups, channels and devices, including set-top controllers, stat muxes, QAM modulators and switches. It automatically collects this data and provides a single-screen graphical display of the device path for any channel from the first source (such as a satellite dish) to the final source. In other words, the solution is designed so that operators can access any data, at any time, from a single interface so they can troubleshoot headend issues and determine which devices any faulty channel touches, Zanaware says.Judges applauded Zanaware's offer to go into a company and configure connections to a wide range of headend equipment, eliminating for operators what would seem to be the "headache" of the initial connection and integration process.www.zanaware.comSee them at Cable-Tec EXPO, Mega Hertz Booth 2421Return to the BTR Diamond Technology Reviews Elite.
